Among the maps was this blueprint. The Treadway family, who summered at “Grayrock” in Seal Harbor, had given the maps to her. This rare and delicate map contains hand-drawn annotations in red and black ink. Most are located in the lower right quadrant in the vicinity of Sargent Mountain, Redfield Hill, Day Mountain and Seal Harbor. To see these markings, view the map at full size and full screen. The actual map is located in the archives of the Southwest Harbor Public Library. This room is located upstairs at Harbor House on the side of the building next to the Lawrence S. Robinson Co. I attended the 4th and 5th grades in that room. It was sunnier than the rooms on the north side of the building, so when my fourth grade teacher, Gladys Whitmore, retired the fifth grade teacher, Bertha Reed, seized the opportunity to move the fifth grade across the hall. The children seem to be in the same places, but the teachers are standing in different places. Researchers have identified the children, but not the order in which they appear. The long roofed building in the center, next to the harbor, a bowling alley after World War II - currently the Hamilton Marine building. The building on the right with the striped roof is the firm of Clark & Parker/Manset Marine Supply Co./ and the Oceanarium since 1979. The Oceanarium is the oldest commercial building on Clark Point - the only one extant except the Clarence Clark House. The Manset shore is in the background with discernible landmarks, including the Manset Union Church, the Stanley wharf, the early Stanley House and numerous commercial buildings on the Shore Road.
