| While the photograph is old and in disrepair, up close the desks and chairs can be seen to shine indicating that, if not new, they were at least kept very clean. The side wall on the left of this old school was constructed of boards tightly nailed together. The back wall was painted brick. The drawings of children with pinafores, pinned to the left wall, were done by the children and in crayon. We know that the photograph was taken in October from the owls and black cats and autumn leaf décor, still universally used in school rooms around Halloween. | The first lobster boat in the foreground, on the dock, M2721A, may have been built by Rich & Grindle for George Dolliver. The excursion boat "Seal" in the center of the photograph was built by Normand Joseph Bouchard for Linwood Boynton Wedge (1913-1961) and Woodrow Wilson Herrick (1914-2002) to be used as a dragger. "Seal" was owned by Samuel A. Blanchard (1926-2009) who took out fishing parties on her. - Information from Ralph Stanley 05/2011 The boat to the right of "Seal" was "Eva Anita" a 40' lobster boat built in 1959 by Bunker & Ellis for Wesley Bracy of Great Cranberry Island. |

| The view is from the Pemetic Hotel (The Castle) and, on the Southwest Harbor side, shows the Clarence Clark (Ellsbert/Heilaka) house left foreground. The long roofed building in the center, next to the harbor, a bowling alley after World War II - currently the Hamilton Marine building. The building on the right with the striped roof is the firm of Clark & Parker/Manset Marine Supply Co./ and the Oceanarium since 1979. The Oceanarium is the oldest commercial building on Clark Point - the only one extant except the Clarence Clark House. The Manset shore is in the background with discernible landmarks, including the Manset Union Church, the Stanley wharf, the early Stanley House and numerous commercial buildings on the Shore Road.
