The lobster yacht at the end of the dock is the “Sarah Holloway” built in 2004-2005 for Tom Chappell, founder of “Toms of Maine.” She was designed by Ralph Warren Stanley and his son, Edward Warren Stanley, and built by Ralph’s son Richard Lewis Stanley. “Sarah Holloway” is 36’ and has a 465 HP Yanmar diesel.

Stanley is renowned as a builder and designer of traditional wooden boats, especially lobsterboats and Friendship sloops. According to Festival organizers, the Caffrey award is given “to a person who has made an ‘exceptional contribution to the preservation and appreciation of maritime heritage’” (emphasis original).
