The house visible in the field is the Capt. Joseph Bassett Norwood house, at 10 Mitchell Lane, Map 8 - Lot 053-1, MHPC #405-0867. "The house occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Austin Mitchell and family was built by Mrs. Mitchell's father, Capt. Joseph B. Norwood, in 1896.

The building on the left was the ice house. The one on the right had been Chester Lewis Gott's (1888-1947) store. The Stanley Fisheries office was upstairs above the store.
