Robbins - Colson Henry Robbins (1858-1935)

Colson Henry Robbins was born in 1858 in Maine. He married Elizabeth A. Sprague (1857-1912), daughter of Lemuel R. and Nancy M. (Rumill) Sprague on February 10, 1878 in Tremont, Maine.

“…Colson Robbins, a sea captain earlier in his life, was Dr. [Willis] Watson’s resident farmer on Pond Island from 1895 to 1900.” - “Islands of the Mid-Maine Coast, Blue Hill and Penobscot Bays” by Charles B. McLane, Woolwich, Maine, Kennebec River Press c. l982, pages 352-358.

Dr. Willis Watson of Bass Harbor “owned most of the islands in the Opechee group during the late 1880s and 1890s and kept a dairy farm on Pond Island.”

Colson Robbins died on March 21, 1935 in Southwest Harbor, Maine.
