"Southwest Harbor School Bus Driver Honored
Oscar Seavey is one of the most respected citizens of Southwest Harbor.
Two resolutions which honor him are testimony to the respect in which he is held.

Mr. Seavey has been a school bus driver for 20 years. Ten years ago a resolution was adopted by the citizens of Southwest Harbor which read: “Oscar Seavey has been bus driver and custodian of one of the buildings for the last 10 years. This is an enviable record and …we are fortunate to have such a capable driver.”

Recently Mr. Seavey completed his second decade of perfect record as a bus driver. The citizens of Southwest Harbor adopted a second resolution which read, “that the town of Southwest Harbor at this time express its thanks and best wishes for a long continuance of his faithful service… and that this resolution be presented to him as a testimonial of the respect, affection and admiration in which he is held by the pupils, teachers and citizens of town of Southwest Harbor.”" – Bar Harbor Times, March 12, 1959.
